Sea voyage along the Amalfi Coast

In Salerno you will find several companies where rentals are possible. These yachting trips will allow you to familiarize yourself with the most famous locations of the Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi Coast and the islands of Ischia and Capri.

Start

Salerno is famous for its centuries-old history, its many sights from different eras, and its numerous museums. Exploring these locations is worth at least a full day. Naples' main airport is about 60 kilometers from Salerno. To get from there to Salerno, you can take a cab (travel time about 30 minutes) or you can take a train, which will take about 1.5 hours.

Day 1

The passage by boat from Salerno to Amalfi is short and is only 8 nautical miles. The Charter itinerary runs along the coast, so navigation will not be difficult. Southwesterly winds prevail here from late spring to mid-autumn, so you will probably have to maneuver a bit. It is recommended that you set off in the morning to give you plenty of time to explore Amalfi.

Day 2

The route by boat from Amalfi to Sorrento covers 21 nautical miles. It’s important to keep in mind that much of the route will be opposite the prevailing winds. But don’t worry about navigation just follow the headlands.

Day 3

The crossing from Sorrento to Naples is 13 nautical miles. The sailing trip crosses the Gulf of Naples from southeast to northwest. This is a good route for comfortable sailing. As you approach Naples, be aware that there is increased traffic from various vessels. Plan your crossing so that you can enjoy sightseeing in the city.

Day 4

The section from Naples to the marina of Casamicciola on the island of Ischia is 18 nautical miles. Depending on the wind forecast, you can sail around the island of Procida from different directions. You can also choose the anchorage at the Aragonese Castle as an overnight stay. From there, the main attractions of Ischia are much closer than from the marina.

Day 5

Transfer by yacht from the marinas of Casamicciola to the marina on the island of Capri 20 nautical miles. It is very likely that you will have a tailwind to support you. Note that it is better to book in advance, as the marina is always full and is quite expensive. An alternative is to anchor at Marina Piccola.

Day 6

A 12 nautical mile crossing from the marina on the island of Capri to Positano awaits here. Standing on a buoy in Positano is not always comfortable, so you may consider spending a few hours touring the town and then spending the night in the marina in Amalfi.

Day 7

The last leg of the journey is from Positano to Salerno, a distance of 14 nautical miles. You are already very familiar with the route. Enjoy the beautiful views of the Amalfi Coast and plan stops for swimming.
